In this photo, Vaughn is at China Beach with Ernie Gowell. It was the theory that immersion into salt water would be good for their coats and skin. As you can see, Vaughn had his own ideas about that being good for him.

Vaughn was one of the four dogs that died in '67 as a result of a toxic cleaning solution used to clean the kennels.
